Riders CAP off the BBL season with a powerful Play Off Final performance to claim treble

Leicester Riders beat Newcastle Eagles in the Play Off Finals Sun 14th May 2017 to complete treble.  The Riders defeated Newcastle Eagles 84-63 to win the BBL Play-off final at the O2.

The Riders, who finished top of the BBL Championship and also secured the BBL Trophy were dominate from the start and controlled the match establishing a 29-11 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Newcastle Eagles produced a rally to cut the advantage down to 20 points at half time. (47-27).

A three-pointer from Riders captain Tyler Bernardini gave them a 72-44 lead heading into the final quarter where they never relinquished control.

As the game came to the closing stages in the final quarter, we could only see one winner as The Riders lead could not be closed and the celebrations started in traditional Foxberry Boy style - Snapbacks and champagne.

The BBL Play Off Final MVP was awarded to Rider's Swedish forward Pierre Hampton, who finished with 14 points and 14 rebounds, while Andy Thomson was top scorer with 18 points. Rahmon Fletcher netted 16 points for the Eagles.
