'Love Islanders' Kem and Amber beat our favourites fourth evicted Marcel and Gabby to be crowned 2017 winners

Kem Centinay and Amber Davies beat Camilla Thurlow and James Hewitt to win Love Island 2017.

Marcel Somerville and Gabby Allen were the first couple to be evicted from Love Island's live final on Monday night followed shortly by Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood in third place.

Since Marcel Sommerville aka 'Platinum' from the 'Blazin Squad' joined the ITV programme Love Island. The band has seen online streams soar to 2500%

During episode one of Love Island, Marcel opened up about his boyband past with his fellow contestants. - “No obviously I used to be in the Blazin' Squad when I was a kid”, he said. “Dom, how could you not know Bruv?” and Camilla even managed to get Marcel to say the word 'Blazin' Squad' 5 times during a conversation based on completing a task set by Love Island producers.

Well don't worry Marcel, Foxberry Boys knows exactly who you are!  Due to our boyband affiliation #wearefoxberryboys

Blazin’ Squad debuted way back in 2001 and released three full length albums between then and 2006. The band made a short return in 2009 to release their ‘Greatest Hits’ album.

Their biggest hit and most streamed song in the group’s back catalogue, ‘Crossroads’, spent a week at Number One back in 2002.

Marcel told the show “Right now I don’t think it’s the right time for the squad to reunite. Obviously I’ll come out of there and we’ll probably do some gigs but I don’t know whether or not it’ll be the full 10, but you never know. You might get lucky and we might do a one-off but I’m throwing it out there. It’s not a definite but there’s possibilities in the near future that might happen.”

“But there’s also possibilities that in the near future we could all get back together and do a couple of songs – maybe do an album. You got to give us time mate. Everyone’s doing their own little things. It’s a patience game, man. Getting 10 people together is really hard these days.”

Two days before the final showdown the couples met each others parents to solidify their approval of the relationship in the Love Island show and we were almost certain Marcel and Gabby would be crowned winners, but we guess it was not meant to be.
